This episode completes my interview with Monika Berenyi and Cecilia Costa for their Detroit City Poetry project, recorded at the 420 Café in Amsterdam on March 17, adds some tunes by the Motor City Blues Scholars, the MC-5 and the Up, and concludes with several selections from the Detroit City Poetry event at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) on April 16 that served as the culmination of an investigation by 15 students from the Netherlands into the poetry of the Motor City. The three Detroit poets spotlighted here are Melba Joyce Boyd, James Semark and myself, and I’m accompanied by saxophonist Johnny Evans and guitarist Jeff Grand from the Blues Scholars.
